BMW’s GS Trophy is held every two years in different locations, with a dozen national teams from around the world competing for the trophy. There are tough daily stages as well as special challenges where teams battle it out, all while touring some of the most beautiful landscapes in the world. The BMW GS Trophy qualifiers were held in Goa last weekend, and three experienced GS riders have been selected to represent India in the final round in New Zealand.
More than 75 BMW GS owners participated in the Indian National Qualifier. Individual riders gave it their best to come out on top in competitive stages replicating challenges faced in the International GS Trophy including hardcore adventure riding and teamwork challenges. Special tests included a display of riding capability, technique, navigation, fitness, mental alertness and mechanical skills. Riders score points leading to a final where top scorers compete for the three team positions.
The top 3 riders from this gruel selection were picked to represent Team India: HK Naik from Bangalore, Shakeel Basha from Coimbatore and V Sathyananth from Tirupur.
