Sirish started testing cars and bikes straight out of engineering college, and nearly two decades on – despite a short detour to work for the best car company in the world – firmly believes that automotive journalism is the best job in the world. “I get paid to travel the world driving and riding the most incredible cars and bikes!” he gushes. Testing cars led him to rallying, winning his class in the Raid and Desert Storm rally raids. Learning the Scandinavian flick on an ice driving experience north of the Arctic Circle prompted him to enter the Indian rally series where he finished runner-up in the Group N 2000cc and 1600cc national championships. He also co-founded what was once India’s largest rally team, taking the first victory for the Polo in the Indian rally championship, and then recognising the incredible hurdle that is motorsport sponsorship he launched what is still India’s only motorsport magazine. Most recently he took part in the Vento Cup, finishing on the podium in his very first race. Sirish is part of the Indian Car of the Year, Indian Motorcycle of the Year and World Car of the Year juries and also spearheads the Times Auto Awards in partnership with evo India and Fast Bikes India.
Everyone in the industry knows him as ‘the Bossman’ and also not to mess with Adil. He still has a tee with “Here Comes Trouble” inscribed on it. He has been evaluating automobiles for over 40 years yet he is the youngest individual in the office, claiming to be 18 years young. Adil is also a noted automotive historian and has seven titles to his name, winning international awards for them. He loves his bikes just a little more than cars but ice cream ranks higher!
Abhishek imitates Vin Diesel’s stylish hairdo to the T, but the same cannot be said about his car preferences. Muscle he loves, but not really muscle cars. In fact, everything coming from the land of Uncle Sam is a mystery to him (including processed cheese). Still unsure whether he is inclined towards two wheels or four, he is continuously worried about the death of driver’s cars in India. Some say he even drinks petrol. Maybe that’s the secret to those great fuel efficiency numbers on his long termers.
A petrolhead for as long as he can remember with a passion for everything on two and four wheels, Aniruddha stepped into the rallying arena at the age of twenty one. That’s where he met editor Sirish, who saw his passion for cars and bikes and gave him an opportunity to write for evo India magazine. He now tests cars for evo India while being responsible for all the motorsport content including Motor Sport India magazine
Having spent most of his life flitting from one thing to another, this twenty something is now neck deep in trying to be an automotive journalist. Has always had a thing for anything that moves and moves fast. Loves cars and bikes and the technology that goes into them. Geeks around all day about his favourite cars and bikes. Just a suggestion - Don’t ask him what his favourite car is, lest you want to spend the next hour listening about it.
Rohit started out photographing bees in his backyard but the bug bit him (the photo bug, not the bee), and it bit him hard. He progressed to fashion, events and even portraits before he found his calling — automotive photography. A lot of the stunning travelogue photos you see in the magazine are this man’s doing. The best part? Not only is he handy behind the lens, but is quite skilled behind the wheel as well!
Everything about Alameen is cool. His fashion sense. His personality. And his vehicles. Currently a proud owner of a Triumph Daytona, our video guru is one fast nut. He’s great behind the camera and can show the boys a trick or two on wheels as well. When he is not shooting, Alameen is usually popping wheelies, making the ladies of Viman Nagar swoon over him. Sadly however, he is taken ladies.
The man with the killer beard and an even killer smile, Aslam is responsible for the stunning layouts that elevate the brilliant imagery our photo wizards conjure up. With his marriage on the cards soon, he is undergoing a strict diet regimen of meat and beer. He loves fast cars just as much as the other guys and would surely love to own the pony car from Ford one day.
The motorsport section on our website and in our magazine? That's mostly authored by Hari. He's a motorsport fanatic, an off-roading lover and a total adrenaline junkie who feeds on screeching tyres and slinging dirt. Rumour has that he even snorts dirt to get high. Also, never go near him with a cup of tea, he snatches it.
Suvrat is the most active electric mobility connoisseur at the evo India HQ. He loves his French, he hates diesel smoke but is certainly an avid traveler. Add four wheels to the equation, and he will arrange his experience in a string of words. He may sleep-talk, and wake up late for the shoots, but when hes there, hes THERE.
A bike-crazy kid was refused a set of wheels by his dad. So he joined the BPO field (coz Pune, ya know). And kept on studying like a good boy (coz qualifications=money amirite?). But then detoured to become a banking rep, then returned for a second BPO inning. And finally joined a national newspaper before jumping ship into automobile journalism! Phew!
A sucker for European ladies (read motorcycles) and prefers two-wheeled thrill-machines over the cages any day of the week. Starting out on a humble Kinetic Honda, has progressed to a KTM RC 200 (for now) which has endured the noob's rite of passage, of weekend rides, long distance tours, and even occasional off-road action for four years, and counting!
