Hero MotoCorp has had a silent few months into 2022, but it has now added a new scooter into its lineup — the Hero Destini 125 XTEC which has been launched at a price tag of Rs 79,900 (ex-showroom). The Destini 125 XTEC is Hero’s version of a retro scooter which could go up against the Yamaha Fascino.

Hero Destini 125 XTEC Design

There’s not a lot that has changed in terms of the aesthetics, but the front-end has been tweaked to lend the Destini 125 XTEC a more retro appearance. More specifically, the headlamp fairing has been redesigned for that purpose, while the rest of the scooter retains the same design as the standard Destini. The Hero Destini 125 XTEC also receives a new Nexus Blue paint shade, and there’s chrome treatment on the mirrors and the muffler. There’s also a backrest similar to the one on the Pleasure+ 110 XTEC.

Hero Destini 125 XTEC Under the skin

The Hero Destini 125 XTEC remains identical to the standard Destini under the skin, which means it retains the same 124.6cc powertrain that churns out 9bhp at 7000rpm, and 10.4Nm of 5500rpm. It also uses the same 130mm drum braking setup on both ends, with no discs on offer. The suspension setup is also the same as the standard Destini, with telescopic forks up front and a unit swing monoshock at the rear.

Hero Destini 125 XTEC Equipment

Hero has given the Destini 125 XTEC a semi-digital instrument cluster, which now gets a redesigned layout, and it displays all the necessary information, including a side-stand alert. Additionally, the XTEC receives bluetooth connectivity over the standard Destini, which means you can pair your smartphone and get call and SMS alerts. However, there’s no navigation function available here.
