TVS Motors has launched the latest TVS Ntorq 125 Race XP. The engine of the standard Ntorq 125 has been tuned to make more power and TVS has also managed to shave a few kilos off of the scooter in the process. The Race XP edition is priced at Rs 83,275, making it the fifth variant of the Ntorq 125 following the Drum, Disc, Race Edition, Super Squad Edition. Read on to have a look at what’s new in this edition of the Ntorq 125.

TVS Ntorq 125 Race XP will have 'voice command' feature

TVS Ntorq 125 Race XP Design

The only change in the design for the Race XP edition is the colours resembling TVS’ racing colours. It will sport a new three-tone colour scheme of red, silver, and black. The wheels are painted red as well. The rest of the styling remains the same with the sharp and aggressive cuts and creases along with the signature headlamp and LED tail lamps.

TVS Ntorq 125 Race XP Engine

The Race XP edition has a 3-valve, 124.79cc engine tuned to make claimed 10bhp and 10.8Nm of torque, which is 0.7bhp and 0.3Nm of torque more than the previous model. It also gets two riding modes — race and street, which is a segment first. TVS claims that the Race XP edition can get to a top speed of 98kmph in race mode. And TVS suggests the street mode for city commutes and traffic situations and also states that the scooter will return more mileage in this mode.

TVS Ntorq 125 Race XP Chassis

The Ntorq Race XP edition stays mechanically the same as before, but it is a couple of kilograms lighter. The Ntorq 125 Race Edition weighs 118kg and the Race XP edition weighs 116kg. The Ntorq is suspended on telescopic suspensions at the front and monoshock coil spring setup at the rear, rolling on 110/80 R12 tubeless tyres coupled with alloy wheels. The Ntorq’s chassis was well received for its flickability, and now being two kilograms lighter, the Race XP should handle better than its predecessor but that remains to be seen.

New Features in Race TVS Ntorq 125 XP

Another highlight of the new Race XP edition is the ‘voice assist’ feature. This feature can be used to launch navigation, adjust console brightness, enable DnD, and change new riding modes, by using voice commands. The TVS SMARTXONNECT application user interface has also been updated with features like saving important addresses and giving a graphical representation of performance parameters.

At ₹83,275, the TVS Ntorq 125 Race XP rivals the Suzuki Burgman Street and the Honda Grazia. It will be interesting to see how the Ntorq 125 XP stacks up against the Race Edition with its weight reduction and power gains.
