TVS Srichakra Ltd, which is a part of the TVS Group, yesterday launched a new series of tyres under the ‘TVS Eurogrip’ brand. All two-wheeler tyres produced by the company will now be sold under the TVS Eurogrip brand.
TVS Srichakra officials at the launch event mentioned that the term Eurogrip was born out of extensive consumer research, which eventually drove them to launch a new brand altogether. The new series of tyres have been developed in Italy in conjunction with European and Italian tyre engineers. In fact, they have even set-up a design and innovation centre in Milan, Italy where a major chunk of the research and development activities will take place. However, the tyres will be made in India and sold across the globe.
The different tyre sizes that will be available are 150/60 ZR17, 120/80 R17 and 80/100-18 among 16 others. The company said that they want to focus towards millennial enthusiasts and hence has introduced a high performance zero-degree steel belted radial tyre as well. This tyre has been tested at 300kmph and is rated to endure speeds upto 270kmph. The ZR17 tyre can be fitted onto motorcycles like the KTM 390 Duke and the Bajaj Dominar 400. The new tyres will fit onto to two-wheelers with a displacement of 70cc to 500cc.
Commenting on the launch of the TVS Eurogrip series, Mr. P Vijayaraghavan, Director, TVS Srichakra Ltd said, “India will remain a promising market for two-wheelers and we see tremendous growth opportunity. It is a moment of pride for all of us as we launch TVS Eurogrip catering to the needs and requirements of the new age Indian rider. With this step, we boldly stride into the future”.
