Triumph is all set to launch the 2018 Tiger 800 motorcycle range on March 21. Triumph says that it has made 200 updates on its entry level adventure motorcycle. There is no word from Triumph regarding the number of variants that might make it to our shores. The 2018 Tiger 800, currently in its third generation, makes the same power and torque figures as the previous generation motorcycle, 94bhp and 79Nm.
Changes have been made on the ergonomics front, the bike gets heated grips, and it comes with adjustable suspension for the front and rear. The fly screen is manually adjustable in five ways. The motorcycle gets five riding modes – Road, Rain, Sport, Off Road and Rider. The Tiger 800 gets the 5-inch TFT instrument console and switch gear that is seen on the Street Triple RS.
The previous generation Tiger 800, available in four variants, retails from Rs 10.87 lakh for the base XR variant to Rs 14.37 lakh for the top-of-the-line XCa variant, all prices ex-showroom, India. The XRx and XCx variants are priced at Rs 12.13 lakh and 13.28 lakh respectively.
Expect the 2018 Tiger range to be slightly more expensive than its predecessor, as the bikes will head to our shores via the CKD route. We have already ridden the XCa and XRt variants in Morocco; here are our first ride impressions of the motorcycles.
