Triumph India has brought in the Street Triple RS to our country for Rs. 10.55 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. It is a bump of nearly 2 lakh over its base model the ‘S’ and will go head to head with the likes of MV Agusta Brutale 800, Kawasaki Z900 and Ducati Monster 821.
The 765cc inline triple now produces a maximum power figure of 121bhp at 11,700rpm and maximum torque of 77Nm at 10,800rpm. This is a bump of nearly 10bhp and 4Nm over the S which was launched in the country a couple of months back. The engine also gets a slipper clutch, three extra riding modes and bi-directional quickshifter as standard.
It gets a host of cutting edge technical aids like fully adjustable Showa big piston fork front suspension, Öhlins STX40 fully adjustable rear monoshock, body coloured bellypan and pillion seat cowl, Brembo M50 monobloc front brake callipers, adjustable levers and Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP tyres. It comes with two color options, matt silver ice and phantom black.
Aninda rode the Street Triple RS last year in Barcelona, Spain and you can see what he has to say about it here.
