A few months ago, Suzuki gave the Gixxer SF a massive cosmetic overhaul. Now finally, the naked sibling, the Gixxer too has got its long due update. The 2019 Gixxer has been priced at Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), which is Rs 12,000 more than the previous model. In India, the Gixxer faces competition from Yamaha FZ, Bajaj Pulsar NS160, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V and Honda CB Hornet 160R.
For 2019, the Gixxer borrows a lot of bodywork straight from the new Gixxer SF. This includes the tank, updated rear section with split seats, new exhaust and instrument cluster. The bike also gets a new LED headlamp.
Mechanically, the bike remains unchanged and uses the same air-cooled, single-cylinder 155cc engine developing 13.9bhp and 14.1Nm of peak twist. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes at both ends. The bike also gets a single-channel ABS unit.
Suzuki is offering the Gixxer in three colours- black, silver and a two-tone blue-black theme similar to the bigger capacity Suzukis. Accessories like bash-plate, knuckle guards, charging socket, tank pads are also being offered by the company as accesories.
In May this year, Suzuki also launched the Gixxer SF 250 and now with the 2019 Gixxer being launched finally, the launch of the 250cc doesn’t seem to be too far from now.
