Royal Enfiled has recently launched the Classic Signals 350 series which are equipped with dual-channel ABS. Royal Enfiled has finally launched the Himalayan with a much needed dual-channel ABS update priced at Rs 1.79 lakh for the standard while the Sleet model is priced Rs 1.80 lakh.
This decision has come into effect due to the government regulation making it mandatory for all motorcycles above 125cc to be equipped with ABS starting from April 2019. The Himalayan will continue to be powered by the same 411cc engine that produces 24.5bhp and 32Nm. They also plan to equip their entire range of motorcycles with dual-channel ABS by the end of 2018. The addition of the dual-channel ABS will improve the safety benefits. Since the new IRDAI rule makes it mandatory for all brand new two-wheelers to have a five year third-party insurance, the on-road price of the Himalayan may also go up a few thousand rupees.
Royal Enfield also plans to launch the Thunderbird X with the dual-channel ABS option.
