The 2021 Moto Guzzi V85 TT has been launched by the Piaggio group in India and is priced three lakh more than the previous model that was priced at Rs 12.6 lakh. The major update on the new bike is the compliance to the standard emission norms along with other minor updates.

The V85 TT gets an 853cc air-cooled engine, V-twin engine

The powertrain on the V85 TT is the same as before, an 853cc, air-cooled, transverse V-twin engine, but produces less power 75bhp at 7,500 rpm as compared to the older model that produced 79bhp. It also produces 82Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm as compared to the previous 81.3Nm of torque.

On the suspension front, the V85 TT gets the same USD forks in the front and a laterally mounted mono-shock, and both are adjustable. On the braking front, it features double discs with radially mounted Brembo four-piston calipers on the front and a single disc with a floating two-pot caliper at the rear. The bike continues to sport a 19-inch front wheel front and a 17-inch rear wheel.

Moto Guzzi V85 TT gets five riding modes

The new bike weighs just a kilo more at 230kg and has the same fuel capacity of 23 litres. In terms of electronics, the Moto Guzzi V85 TT gets ride-by-wire which enables five riding modes, two more than before, ABS and traction control all of which have different levels of intervention based on which mode you are in.

Moto Guzzi is back in India after a brief hiatus and it would be great to see the company bring in the rest of the range including the V7 and the V9. The Moto Guzzi V85 TT goes up against Triumph Tiger 900s and if it were still available, the BMW F 850 GS.
