After the launch of the 125 Duke, the faired version was highly anticipated. We have had images circulating on the internet of the faired 125 being tested, but finally KTM India has made it official. The company has teased the launch of the KTM RC 125 with a teaser on their Instagram handle.

Following the tradition, the RC 125 will share the components with its naked sibling. This means, the RC 125 will get the same 124.7cc, liquid-cooled, single cylinder mill churning out 14.3bhp and 12Nm. Suspension too is likely to be a straight fit from the 125 Duke.

While the RC 125 that is sold in other markets get a side slung exhaust like the RC 390, the Indian model spotted testing flaunted an underbelly unit like the RC 200. Also, like the 200cc KTMs and the 125 Duke, this bike is expected to get a single-channel ABS unit. The test mules spotted flaunted a white and orange paint scheme like the RC 200, the teaser showed a black, white, orange scheme. So the RC 125 will most likely be offered in two colour schemes.

What will make the launch interesting is the pricing. Following the footsteps of the 200cc siblings, the RC 125 is likely to demand a premium of Rs 28,000 to Rs 30,000 over the naked 125. Right now, the 125 Duke costs Rs 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom), which shot up twice from the initial price of Rs. 1.18 lakh. This means that the bike may be priced in the Rs 1.55 lakh to Rs 1.60 lakh bracket. However, the Yamaha YZF- R15 V3.0 is priced at Rs 1.39 lakh (e-showroom) which is more powerful than the RC 125 presents a stronger case of itself. Also, with the new Gixxer SF (Rs 1.09 lakh) in the picture, we feel that KTM may decide to price the bike more competitively. Stay tuned for more updates!
