Honda has finally launched the updated version of the CBR650F sports-tourer at Rs 7.3 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and thrown bookings open to enthusiasts. Interested folks can head to any one of the 22 Wing World outlets across the nation to book their bike or log on to www.honda2wheelersindia.com for more information.
The Honda continues to be powered by the same 85.4bhp liquid-cooled 649cc in-line four that powered the predecessor, but with some updates. It gets a redesigned intake valve and a new 4-into-1 exhaust with a dual pass internal structure in the muffler. The company claims that this reduces back pressure and also helps create a more exciting exhaust note. In fact, one of the complaints about the previous version was the bike’s inability to provide aural delights.
Other than that the CBR650F now gets 41mm dia Showa dual bending valve type forks, which are lighter than the forks on the previous model. Honda also claims that the forks’ ability to regulate compression and damping puts them at par with cartridge type forks but the bike continues to employ a conventional fork instead of the inverted forks that others (even lower down the spectrum) have adopted. Brake callipers too have been updated and the headlight is now an LED unit.
“The new CBR650F, delivers a strong dose of CBR series sporting intent and style. With a great combination of sporty style & powerful performance of inline 4 cylinder engine, CBR650F has got a long list of enthusiastic riders. The new CBR650F offers additional value at no increase in price from its previous generation,” said Y S Guleria, senior vice president – Sales and Marketing, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India.
