Hero MotoCorp launches two motorcycles at Hero World 2020

Xtreme 160R breaks cover; XPulse Rally kit finally launched at Rs 38,000

Hero MotoCorp’s three-day event, Hero World 2020 began today and the brand made some big announcements. Hero MotoCorp unveiled the updated Xtreme 160R, followed by the launch of Passion Pro BS6 and Glamour. Hero MotoCorp has finally launched the XPulse Rally kit which was showcased at EICMA 2019.

XPulse Rally Kit

Ever since Hero MotoCorp unveiled the XPulse Rally Kit, enthusiasts have been waiting for the brand to launch it. Hero has finally launched the kit today at Rs 38,000 and will be available at select dealerships from next month. However, this kit is intended for race use only and is not road legal.

The Rally Kit comprises of fully adjustable telescopic forks, offering 250mm travel (60mm more than the standard), a 10 step, fully adjustable monoshock with 220mm travel (50mm more travel over standard). The wheelbase, with the kit extends by 10mm to 1420mm and the ground clearance shoots up by 50mm and will stand at SUV-shaming 275mm. Hero MotoCorp is also offering a sprocket set, price of which has not been revealed yet.

For better ergonomics, the kit includes a flat ‘bench’ seat, increasing the seat height by 110mm, handlebar risers, Maxxis rally tyres, longer side stand and extended gear lever to accommodate off-road style boots.

Hero Passion Pro BS6

The BS6-compliant variant now gets a 110cc, fuel injected engine delivering 9.02bhp at 7500rpm and 9.79Nm at 5000rpm. The power has improved by 9 per cent while the torque has shot up by a commendable 22 per cent.

Just like the Splendor iSmart BS6, the Passion Pro gets 14 per cent more suspension travel at the front and 10 per cent more travel at the rear. Ground clearance too has gone by 9 per cent.

The bike now gets overhauled styling, with a new headlamp, taillamp, tank and updated graphics and paint schemes. Features include updated instrument cluster, i3s wizardry and new Auto Sail Technology.

The Passion Pro is available in two variants and is priced at Rs 64,990 for the drum variant and Rs 67,190 for the disc variant (both ex-showroom, Delhi).

Hero Glamour

One of the best-selling 125cc commuter, Hero Glamour too has received its BS6 update, and now gets a new 125cc fuel injected engine, developing 10.73bhp at 7,500rpm and 10.6Nm at 6,000rpm. The power figure has witnessed a bump of 19 per cent over the BS4 model.

Hero MotoCorp has updated the suspension of the the bike, resulting in 20 per cent more ground clearance, 14 per cent more front suspension travel and 10 per cent more rear suspension travel. Braking duties are handled by 240mm disc at the front and a 130mm drum brake at the rear.

Hero Glamour is available in two variants and is priced at Rs 68,900 (drum brake) and Rs 72,400 (Disc brake) (both ex-showroom, Delhi).

Hero Xtreme 160R

Hero MotoCorp has decided to venture into the premium 160cc market with the Xtreme 160R. The bike gets LED illumination all around, a first in the segment, inverted digital display

Hardware on the Xtreme 160R includes 37mm Showa telescopic forks and 7-step adjustable rear monoshock. Braking duties rae handled by 276mm disc at the front and a 220mm disc at the rear, coupled with single-channel ABS.

The Xtreme 160R will be available in three colours – White/Grey, Blue/Grey and Red/Grey. Hero MotoCorp hasn’t announced the pricing or launch date yet, but we expect it to hit the roads by the third quarter of 2020.
