Hero will launch the much anticipated Xtreme NXT on January 30th in New Delhi. The bike has been in development for more than two years and was first unveiled to the public as a concept at the Delhi Auto Expo 2016. Called the Xtreme 200S then, the bike has undergone some modifications since first being unveiled close to two years ago. The Xtreme NXT will be the first premium motorcycle from Hero after the Karizma and considering the fact that production of the Karizma has been halted due to poor sales, it is an important launch for Hero.

The Hero Xtreme NXT will come with a 200cc engine mated to a five-speed gearbox producing 18bhp of power and 17Nm of torque. The bike will have disc brakes at both ends and ABS will be offered as an option. The Xtreme NXT is a sportier version of the Xtreme 150 and the recently released images tell us that it would be styled on similar lines as well. An aggressive looking mini-fairing will be seen on the bike along with supposedly sporty tank extensions. When it was displayed at the Auto Expo, the bike had LED pilot lamps, LED tail lamps along with a dual-coloured seat and a digital-analogue instrument console. It is unclear at this moment if those features will make their way to the production model.

The new Xtreme NXT is expected to be priced around the Rs. 90,000 mark and will compete against the TVS Apache RTR 200 and Bajaj Pulsar NS 200.
