Amidst of all things petrol and oil burning, premium-cycle brand Firefox Bikes have taken another step bringing in a healthy ecosystem by its introduction of the #EverydayAbility campaign in collaboration with ‘Volunteer 4 India’ and the Adventure Beyond Barriers Foundation (ABBF). Being the first event of its 2018-19 season, Firefox Bikes organised a wall-climbing activity at the Arun Samant Climbing Wall in Goregaon, Mumbai, dedicated to developing a sense of adventure among Firefox riders and Persons With Disability (PWD) as one unit.
The #EverydayAbility campaign was formed as a movement to wither away stereotypes and misconceptions surrounding PWDs and, as a result, to create a sense of belonging, acceptance, and equality for all. The campaign had organised scuba diving, rock climbing, rappelling, riding and Para motoring activities in its first season. With the inception of its second season, the campaign looks forward to building a bigger community and outreach which, during the exercise, will also create a sense of engagement for Firefox Riders & dealers in the initiative.
To promote an atmosphere of diversity within the organisation Firefox Bikes have implemented their campaign by hiring PWDs in its workforce. With this in practice, Firefox Bikes aims to deliver a similar sense of creating a diverse organisation amongst institutions of other disciplines and to bring in a strong participation of PWDs in regular workforce.
Commenting on the program, Aditya Munjal, CEO of Firefox Bikes said, “Last year’s resounding success of #EverydayAbility has given us the momentum to push forward with this iconic campaign. We were overwhelmed to see the potential of PWDs during these events. I am confident that they would prove to be real assets if they are given opportunities to join regular workforce.”
The #EverydayAbility campaign works in collaboration with Volunteer4India and the ABBF organization. Volunteer4India is a web-based platform that works to include and bring in volunteers for various social events and initiatives organized by corporates, hence creating a sense of development for various social causes. On a similar motto, the ABBF organization aims to create a sense of adventure and enthusiasm for persons (with and without disability) to experience the adrenaline rush that only sport has to offer. With this combination for the greater good in diversity, the campaign can bring about social changes by encouraging attitudinal change through interests that dispel stereotypes and bring in a diverse range of workforce on building a dynamic global community.
