The ‘Most beautiful bike’ at EICMA 2019, the Ducati Streetfighter V4 has been launched in India at Rs 20 lakh while the Streetfighter V4 S has been launched at Rs 23 lakh. Bookings are now open at all Ducati showrooms across the country and the bikes can be had in two colours – Ducati Red and Dark Stealth (V4 S only). The dark colour will set you back by an additional Rs 20,000.

The Streetfighter V4 is powered by the monstrous 1103cc, Desmosedici Stradale, V4 engine that produces a whopping 205bhp at 12750rpm while the peak 123Nm of torque, practically unchanged from the Panigale V4, kicks in at 9500rpm. This makes it the most powerful naked streetfighter to be ever launched in India. If you’re greedy and are not satisfied with this output, the Ducati will also offer you the race-spec Ducati Performance exhaust by Akrapovic that reduces the 180kg weight by 6kg, and increases the power and torque output to 216bhp and 130Nm.

Top quality chassis components have gone into the Ducati Streetfighter V4. Upfront it gets Showa Big Piston forks with adjustable spring pre-load, compressing and damping. There’s a fully adjustable Sachs monoshock at the rear while braking duties are carried out by Brembo calipers. In addition to that, the Streetfighter V4 also gets Sachs steering damper. On the other hand, the Streetfighter V4 S gets electronically controlled suspension, Ohlins steering damper and Marchesini wheels.

Commenting on the launch, Bipul Chandra, MD, Ducati India said, “The Streetfighter V4 embodies the spirit of a mean beastly super naked, that is loaded with performance to back it up. The Streetfighter’s naked bike design does a fantastic job of putting that nature of the bike right at the center. An unrivalled super naked bristling with cutting-edge technology and an awe-inspiring design that oozes pure, accessible performance, whether it’s on the road or on the racetrack. The motorcycle was much awaited by enthusiasts and Ducatisti alike and we are excited that it is finally available in India for everyone to experience.”

Internationally, the Ducati Streetfighter V4 rivals the likes of KTM 1290 Super Duke R, Kawasaki Z H2 (also sold in India) and Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 among others. Bookings have started across all dealerships in India, but deliveries are only expected to begin when the lockdown restrictions are lifted.
