After the F750GS and the F850GS, BMW Motorrad has launched the F850Adventure in the country. The adventure tourer is priced at Rs 15.4 lakh (ex-showroom). BMW Motorrad has chosen to bring this bike as a completely built-up unit in the country. In India, it is available in only the pro trim with the Style Rallye package. The BMW F850GS Adventure goes up against the Triumph Tiger 800 XCA in the country.
The F850GS Adventure has the unmistakable GS Style. From the asymmetrical headlamp to the flyline from the beak. The bike gets some elements from the big brother, the BMW R1250GS Adventure, especially with the Rallye colour scheme. The silver-blue paint job with golden rims and forks, give the BMW a striking appearance.
The BMW F850GS packs a liquid-cooled 853cc, twin cylinder motor producing 101bhp and 86Nm of peak twist. The standard F850GS produces 93bhp and 92Nm of torque. Being a true blue adventure bike, the F850GS Adventure gets 21-17 inch wheel setup. The enduro-style footrests, adjustable shift and foot brake levers make the bike a hoot off the beaten path. To go the distance, the bike gets a big 23 litre tank. This adventure tourer tips the scales at 244kg.
With the only pro variant available in the country, the bike gets stability control, ABS, adjustable suspension and steering stabilizer. The bike also gets rider modes with optional ‘Dynamic’ and ‘Enduro’ modes with dynamic traction control and banking capable ABS pro. The BMW F850GS Adventure gets analogue tachometer and a multifunctional display. However, BMW is offering a 6.5 inch full colour TFT display as an option.
