Earlier this year, Benelli had launched the TRK 502 and TRK 502X in India. Now, the brand has updated the adventure tourers for 2020 with some subtle changes.
The 2020 Benelli 502 twins get updates in the form of updated backlit switchgear, revamped mirror design and new grip design. The handlebar has been updated for better ergonomics and now is adjustable. Even the clutch and brake levers get adjustability. A major update is a new seat, which the company claims to be more comfortable. However, the new seats have increased the seat height. The TRK 502 seat height now stands at 835mm, which is 35mm more than the current model. The seat height of the TRK 502X has gone up from 840mm to 860mm. This is a substantial difference and is likely to put off many Indian buyers. The TRK 502 and TRK 502X also get updated aluminium pannier rack, two new paint schemes and graphics.
Mechanically, the bikes remain unchanged and are powered by the same liquid-cooled, DOHC-equipped, 500cc engine producing 46.8bhp and 46Nm of peak twist. The models showcased, however, aren’t Euro5/BS-VI-compliant yet.
The brand hasn’t revealed when they intend to launch these bikes in India, however, we expect these bikes to be launched later next year. When the updated models are launched, expect them to be BS-VI-compliant and to get a lower seat height compared to the international model.
