Hero MotoCorp launched the new Glamour in Argentina, beginning its operations in the South American country. In a first, the launch event was held in the city of Buenos Aires, to commemorate the debut of the Hero Motocorp Speedbrain team at Dakar. With the riders, CS Santosh and Joaquim Rodrigues faring well in the most gruelling rally in the world, the timing couldn’t have been better for the largest two-wheeler manufacturer in India to showcase its prowess.

Talking about the Glamour (to be called Ignitor in the South American markets), the 125cc commuter is now BS-IV compliant and can be had with a carburetted as well as a fuel injected option. The upgraded Constant Velocity (CV) carburettor helps promote better fuel efficiency by 3 per cent, as claimed by the manufacturer. The retuned air-cooled engine is now offered with additional power, the claimed figures being optimised by over 27 per cent at 11.4bhp and 11Nm, says the manufacturer. The claimed 0-60kmph figures are impressive for a 125cc with the FI variant clocking it in just 5.64 seconds, while the carburetted variant doing it in 6.04 seconds. Additionally, the i3s automatic start and stop system that had been incorporated in the recently launched Hero motorcycles has made its way into the Glamour.

When it comes to the design, the new tank fairing, rear fender and cowl add to modern looks of the motorcycle. The seat has been rehashed with a better fabric material and even tubeless tyres have been added to make it a better package overall. The auto headlamp feature that is due to be made compulsory has now made its way onto the Glamour, after the Achiever 150.

Available in both, disc and drum variants, Hero MotoCorp has not announced the dates of the launch in India yet, but we expect it to happen soon.
