Kawasaki has launched the 2017 Ninja 1000 in India today, priced at Rs 9.98 lakh, ex-showroom Pune. The Ninja 1000 carries forward the same engine which is BS IV compliant now. Only 20 examples will be sold in India.
Among the updates, the sports tourer now gets a retuned ECU and the ergonomics have been improved as well, to cater for long journeys. In terms of design, it gets a larger fairing, redesigned windscreen, adjustable seat and clutch lever. The Ninja 1000 also gets a 6-axis Bosch IMU from the ZX-10R that includes a package of rider aids, such as ABS, traction control and Kawasaki Cornering Management System. Also on offer are three riding modes. The instrument cluster is all new as well and features an analogue tacho along with other information.
The engine makes 140bhp and 111Nm of torque, same as the previous version but gets a balancer on the crankshaft to minimise vibrations.
The Ninja 1000 goes up against the likes of Suzuki GSX-S1000F and BMW R 1200 RS
