Sherco TVS announce team for Rally of Morocco     

The Rally of Morocco 2019 which is the final round of FIM Cross Country Rallies World Championship, will witness Michael Metge, Lorenzo Santolino, and Johnny Aubert race in the Rally category

Sherco TVS Rally Factory Team has announced its riders’ squad for the Rally of Morocco 2019 which commences on October 3, and ends on October 9, 2019. The Rally of Morocco 2019 is the final round of FIM Cross Country Rallies World Championship, will have Michael Metge, Lorenzo Santolino and Johnny Aubert race in the Rally category.

About the Rally of Morocco

The Rally of Morocco 2019 which includes bikes, quads, cars, trucks and SSV (side-by-side vehicles or UTV) categories. As many as 160 competitors will cover a distance of 2500 kilometers, spread over five stages, traversing through the dunes and tricky trails of Moroccan desert across different stages and routes around Erfoud and Fez, during the six-day rally.

Commenting on the team, B Selvaraj, Team Manager, TVS Racing, spoke about how the dunes of Sahara Desert (at the Rally of Morocco) act as a testing ground for the team, sharpening their skills for future rally stints, and that the previous experiences in the desert mean that the team is poised to deliver consistent performances this time around.

Michael Metge, Racer, Sherco TVS Rally Factory Team, said, “I hope to better my overall performance from the previous rallies and give it my best shot. We plan to finish the stages with a strategic momentum and end the rally on a high note.”

About the Racers

Michael Metge is participating in Rally of Morocco for the second time. He has extensive Dakar experience, as he has participated seven times, with three podium finishes in individual stages. He is also the winner of the Panafrica Rally 2018 and two-time Baja Aragon (2018 and 2019) champion.

Lorenzo Santolino joined the Sherco TVS Rally Factory Team in 2018. He started racing at the age of eight years, and winning the title of Enduro World Champion in 2010, and coming in third at the World E1 Championship, 2015. Santolino has also won the Spanish Championship a cumulative seven times (he participated in both Enduro and Xc categories), and finished the 2019 Baja Aragon at fourth position in overall rankings.

Johnny Aubert finished the Dakar Rally 2018 at sixth position. The two-time Enduro world champion began racing at the age of four and has won more than 40 Enduro GPs in his career so far.
