Fabio Quartararo (Petronas Yamaha SRT) claimed his first MotoGP win in the very first race of the 2020 season at the Gran Premio Red Bull de Espana. The Frenchman capitalised on a Lap 5 mistake from race leader Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) who took a corner too hot and ran wide, somehow managing to stay in the saddle, but losing out on a bunch of places.

Falling down the grid, however, did not dampen Marquez’ spirit, as he went right back to racing his heart out a monumental comeback from the reigning World Champion, climbing back up to P3 before suffering a massive highside at Corner 4 with four laps remaining.

Maverick Vinales (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) came in second at the end of the race, with Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team) rounding off the podium.
