Ducati launches Multistrada 950 S at Rs 15.49 lakh

Ducati has launched the much awaited Multistrada 950 S in the Indian market at Rs 15.49 lakh. Besides, Ducati had already initiated the pre-bookings for the 950 S at a token amount of Rs 1 lakh, with deliveries set to commence within the next few days. In its latest iteration, the Multistrada 950 S gains BS6-compliance for its 937 cc liquid-cooled L-Twin engine mated to a six-speed ‘box, which continues making an unchanged 111bhp at 9000rpm and 96Nm at 7750rpm.

Some of the key highlights on the MultiStrada 950 S include its electronic suspension with Ducati Skyhook Suspension Evo (DSS) system, Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) up and down and a full LED headlight with Ducati Cornering Lights (DCL). In terms of rider aids, Ducati offers features such as Cornering ABS, an integral part of the Ducati Safety Pack (DSP) together with Traction Control, along with Vehicle Hold Control (similar to hill hold control in cars, where the brakes are activated for a few seconds longer when on an incline with the side stand up). Moreover, it also comes with four riding modes (Sport, Touring, Urban, Enduro).

Another big plus of the 950 S is Ducati transmitting all the details regarding the various setting on the bike (power modes, suspension, traction control and ABS settings) on the 5-inch colour TFT display, that too in a simple to understand format. For instance, while adjusting the suspension, it shows five choices ranging from Hardest to Softest, along with a pointer on a graphic that moves between Comfort and Performance.

Finally, for the riders who will primarily be using the 950 S for long-distance touring, electronic cruise control is on offer, along with a manually adjustable, two-position windshield.

In India, the Ducati Multistrada 950 S goes up against the BMW F 900 XR, Triumph Tiger 900 and Kawasaki Versys 1000.
