2022 Honda CBR650R launched at Rs 9.35 lakh
Honda’s two-wheeler division has been off to a good start, and there’s now a third addition to its lineup. The updated 2022 Honda CBR650R has been launched at a price of Rs 9.35 lakh (ex-showroom). Save for some graphic tweaks and new inserts, the 2022 Honda CBR650R remains mechanically identical to the outgoing model, and its most obvious rival continues to be the Kawasaki Ninja 650, which is priced at Rs 6.68 lakh (ex-showroom), costing Rs Rs 2.67 lakh lesser than the Honda.
2022 Honda CBR650R Design
The aesthetics is where the CBR has received a majority of changes. Yes, it’s not a dramatic change and the 2022 Honda CBR650R retains the same design, but the graphics have been tweaked — the black inserts are now more prominent on the Grand Prix Red colour scheme and run throughout the body, while the Matte Gunpowder Matte Black Metallic now gets new orange inserts on certain elements of its body.
2022 Honda CBR650R Powertrain and Chassis
The 2022 Honda CBR650R retains the same 649cc inline four-cylinder engine as before, which puts out 85.8bhp at 12,000rpm and 57.5Nm of torque at 8500rpm, paired to a six-speed transmission. It is underpinned by a twin-tube type steel frame, which hangs off of Showa 41mm SFF big piston fork setup up front, and a 10-step preload adjustable monoshock at the rear. In terms of the braking setup, the 2022 CBR650R comes with 310mm floating twin discs with radially-mounted four-piston calipers upfront, and a 240mm single disc with a single piston caliper. It also sports cast aluminium wheels shod on 120/70-ZR17 at the front and 180/55-ZR17 tyres at the rear.
2022 Honda CB650R Features and Equipment
As far as the equipment list goes, the 2022 Honda CBR650R receives the same set of features as before. It comes with a fully-digital instrument cluster that’s equipped with a gear position indicator, engine temperature indicator, emergency stop signal, an ignition security system, dual trip meters, digital clock, and more. It also gets dual-channel ABS and Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC).
2022 Honda CBR650R Price and Rivals
Launched at Rs 9.35 lakh (ex-showroom), the 2022 Honda CBR650R competes against the Kawasaki Ninja 650 (Rs 6.68 lakh, ex-showroom). While the price difference between the motorcycles is significant, it is worth remembering that the Ninja 650 offers lesser numbers than the Honda in terms of its power and weight outputs.
