Yamaha FZ-S FI V3.0 – Long Term Report
The automotive industry is down, vehicles are not selling, and we have a shortage of long termers! Everyone in office wants one but the automotive Gods look unhappy and most of us have gone back to our personal commuters. However, I’m the lucky guy in the office this month, as Yamaha has sent us the all new FZ-S FI V3.0. Finally I won’t back out from long weekend rides this month.
I have gone from riding an Activa to the FZ-S FI V3.0, and it feels like a major upgrade. I know it’s an unfair comparison but the country’s highest-selling scooter doesn’t match the comfort of a motorcycle. Credit goes to the well-tuned suspension which does a good job of flattening out bumps. Also, the muscular profile of the FZ-S along with the sporty headlamp cluster are quite likeable. The engine too is very refined and tractable, being able to commute at 30kmph in fifth gear comfortably. I’ll be more than happy to live with this package.
Also, suddenly there are more people noticing me on the road, and I must admit that it feels rewarding. I took the bike to a nearby mall recently to get some clicks, and a few bellas even walked up to me, intrigued by the different angles I was trying, to ask me if I was a photographer. Watch out Rohit and Sachin!
