Triumph to launch three new motorcycles this year

Triumph motorcycles will be launching 6 new products for the Indian market including three launches this year. The Bonneville Speedmaster, Tiger 1200 and Tiger 800 will be launched initially.
The Bonneville Speedmaster was showcased at the IBW 2017 and it grabbed quite a few eyeballs. It is based on the Triumph Bobber’s platform and gets the same 1200cc parallel twin motor that does the duty in the T120 Bobber, albeit in a different state of tune. The motorcycle makes 77bhp and 106Nm of peak twist and comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. It gets ABS, cruise control, traction control and two riding modes. Triumph will launch the Speedmaster in the first-quarter of 2018.
Triumph’s big adventure tourer, Tiger 1200 was unveiled internationally at EICMA 2017. Powering the motorcycle is an inline 3-cylinder engine that is coupled to a 6-speed transmission. The bike comes loaded with features including cornering lights, full colour TFT display, shift assist and keyless ignition. Expect the motorcycle to be launched in mid-2018.
Arriving very soon to our shores is the Tiger 800, smaller sibling of the Tiger 1200. Triumph says there are over 200 changes done with the bike and it will come with 6 riding modes, newly designed switchgear with backlit buttons, TFT display and LEDs.
Managing director, Triumph Motorcycles India, Vimal Sumbly, said, “We are extremely happy to launch some incredibly capable Triumph motorcycles here in India within the next few months. It has been our endeavor to provide riding enthusiasts with products that fulfill their riding needs. The upcoming products are a clear indication of Triumph Motorcycles commitment to the India market and its riders. We are also very happy to share that this year up to 90 per cent of Triumph motorcycles coming to India will be assembled here at our Manesar plant thereby making sure that our products set a benchmark within the luxury motorcycle industry.”
With 18 per cent year-on-year growth (July to January) and a customer base of over 4500 in the country, the new launches are expected to add more to Triumph’s growing numbers.
