Triumph India is ready to launch the top of the line RS variant of the Street Triple line-up on October 16. The Street Triple 765 RS gets major performance upgrades over the S variant which was launched earlier this year.
Powering the Street Triple 765 RS is the same motor as seen on the S but in a more powerful state-of-tune, the 765cc liquid cooled inline 3-cylinder engine now produces 121bhp of power and 77Nm of torque, which is 10bhp and 4Nm more than in the S trim. It also features a quick-shifter, a slipper-clutch, switchable ABS and 3 new riding modes – Track, Rider and Sport in addition to the Road and Rain riding modes already available on the S variant.
Other important upgrades include more powerful Brembo M50 monoblock calipers at the front (the S variant gets the Nissin 2-piston sliding calipers), fully-adjustable Showa big-piston forks at the front and Ohlins STX40 rear monoshock (an upgrade over the Showa 41mm front and Showa rear monoshock setup) and Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP tyres. Noticeable visual upgrades include LED DRLs, new switchcubes with 5-way joystick control and a full-colour 5-inchTFT instrument pack with an onboard computer displaying journey time, average speed, average fuel consumption, instantaneous fuel consumption, range to empty, two trip meters and ambient temperature.
Keeping in mind the mechanical and equipment upgrades that the Street Triple RS features, it is expected to be priced more than the S variant, but not so high to dampen spirits. Triumph India may launch the bike at a price of around Rs 10 lakh.
