Trek Bikes India has been in the country since 2007 and has been catering to the premium and super-premium segment of bikes with their range starting at Rs 30,000 and going all the way up to Rs 20 lakh. The company has decided to go the subsidiary route and has started gaining more traction since.

Trek Bikes India has started a retail store in Hyderabad and has organised a 25km Trek Founders ride to get cycling enthusiasts together and expand the Trek community. Trek Bikes India has partnered with Yellow Jersey (The Bike Station) to sell the Trek range of cycles which comprises of the road, mountain and hybrid range. Customers will also have access to the Bontrager range of apparel and equipment at the dealerships.

Trek Bikes India says that the bikes that are sold in India are sourced internationally and there are no plans to start manufacturing in India. They also say that the growth has been radical as sales figures have gone from 3,000 units to 30,000 units in the last ten years and that the sales will improve in smart cities which will have dedicated bicycle tracks/lanes. As of now, 55 per cent of sales are made in Hyderabad, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Bangalore, claims Trek Bikes India.
