SWM Motorcycles to make its India debut

Italy based bikemaker SWM Motorcycles made a comeback in 2014 after a hiatus of 42 years. SWM is well known for its motocrossers in Italy. And they’re now debuting in India, partnering with MotoRoyale. The JV is expected to bring the SuperDual and 650R to India soon.

The Superdual is a tourer while the 650R is a full-fledged enduro bike. Both the bikes are powered by a 600cc lump, making 56bhp of power. The Superdual has a tank capacity of 18 litres and weighs 169kg, making for a lightweight machine that you’ll be able to do long distances on.

SWM is bringing the Euro IV models to India for homologation next month. MotoRoyale will use its assembly line to build CKD models of the bikes. The expected price is expected to be under Rs 6 lakh and the bikes will be sold through MotoRoyale’s network.
