Suzuki Motorcycle India launches 2019 Hayabusa
Suzuki Motorcycle India has launched the 2019 Hayabusa at Rs 13.74 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The 2019 edition of the iconic superbike gets two new colour schemes – Metallic Oort Gray and Glass Sparkle Black. It also gets new graphics and side reflectors and that’s about it. It remains mechanically unchanged and powering the bike is the same 1340cc inline 4-cylinder liquid cooled engine which develops 199.7bhp and 155Nm of peak twist. The 2019 Suzuki Hayabusa is Rs 14,000 less than the 2018 model. The bike will be available across all its ‘Big Bike’ dealerships in the country.
On the launch of 2019 Suzuki Hayabusa, Satoshi Uchida, managing director, SMIPL said: “For 20 years, Suzuki Hayabusa has been one of the most loved sportsbike among the enthusiasts for almost two decades and has received an excellent response in India. It is our constant endeavour to offer great products, and we are pleased to launch the 2019 edition of Hayabusa in two new colour schemes appealing to a larger fan base and enthusiasts in India.”
Sales of the Hayabusa started to soar in the country thanks to the CKD route Suzuki had opted for the bike in 2016. The Suzuki Hayabusa still retains the design of the first gen model, which went on sale back in 1999. It gained cult status and was crowned as the world’s fastest production bike, with a top speed north of 310kmph. Fearing the havoc of such powerful bikes on the streets, the manufacturers agreed on limiting the top speed of the bike to 300kmph.
The 2019 Hayabusa is a whopping Rs 5.96 lakh less than its arch rival, the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R, which retails at Rs 19.7 lakh (ex-showroom).
