Suzuki Avenis Standard Edition launched at ₹88,000

The Avenis 125 is Suzuki’s answer to the Honda Grazia, TVS NTorq and Aprilia SR125 in the burgeoning sports scooter segment which aims at the young generation. So far the scooter was being sold in two variants, the ride connect and the race edition, which received a special paintjob inspired by Suzuki’s MotoGP team. However, according to Suzuki, the high demand for the Avenis has prompted it to offer a third variant below the other two to give another option to customers.

The only major difference between the Avenis Standard Edition and the Ride Connect variant is the lack of bluetooth connectivity in the standard edition. Instead of the bluetooth connectivity, the scooter gets a digital multi-function display. This means it loses out on bluetooth navigation and the ability to check your messages without taking out your phone. Aside from this, the standard edition gets everything that the ride connect variant gets, including the four colour options. It does not however get the race edition’s special paint job, even as an option. The standard edition is powered by the same 125cc fuel-injected engine that outputs 8.5bhp and 10Nm.

The new Suzuki Avenis standard edition is priced at ₹88,171 in Pune (ex-showroom), which is almost ₹1,500 less than the ride connect variant, and ₹2,000 less than the race edition. The pricing is a slight mystery to us, as we don’t think there is any point in losing out on the features that the bluetooth connectivity offers only to save ₹1,500, considering the Avenis is already at a price point beyond that of the average commuter scooter, and offers the more sporty option.
