Last week, Yamaha rolled out its BS6 scooters and announced the end of the 110cc engine. Now, Suzuki has also announced their plans to launch BS6 products from January 2020. The first product from the Japanese brand will be the popular Access 125.

All you need to know about the Access 125 BS6

The new Access 125 will be powered by an updated engine that now employs a fuel injection unit, like the other BS6 scooters we have seen so far. The scooter will deliver 8.5bhp at 6750rpm and 10Nm at 5,500rpm. The power remains same compared to the BS4 model, but now peaks 250rpm sooner. The torque has gone down by 0.2Nm though.

The Access 125 will be equipped with features like external fuel cap, LED headlamp, eco assist illumination to get more miles per tank and LED headlamp. The new scooter will also get a digital console with a voltage meter, indicating battery condition. Cosmetically, the scooter remains largely unchanged. The cosmetic updates are restricted to new mirrors and headlight.

Commenting on the upcoming product, Koichiro Hirao, managing director, Suzuki Motorcycle India, said, “We are thrilled to announce our first BS6 product way ahead of the regulation enforcement deadline of 1st April. For more than a decade now, Suzuki Access 125 has been among the segment’s top-selling scooter known for its performance and popular tagline as ‘Kam Peeta Hai’, and has enjoyed immense love and support from the customers in the country. We are confident that the All-New BS6 compliant Access 125 will be adored even more by Indian consumers. The All-New Access 125 comes loaded with new features which will further enhance the over-all riding experience for the customers.”

The price of the Suzuki Access 125 BS6 will be announced soon. The current model with the disc and alloy is priced at Rs 61,292 (ex-showroom, Delhi), so we expect the new model to be priced in the range of Rs 65,000 to Rs 70,000.
