Triumph Motorcycles has been announced as the exclusive engine supplier to the FIM Moto2 World Championship from the 2019 season onwards.

Signing a three year contract with Dorna (commercial rights holder of MotoGP), the British bikemaker will supply race tuned variant of the Street Triple 765’s engine. The bike is going to be launched in India soon, although we have already ridden it in Catalunya.

The modifications to the engine include modified cylinder heads with optimized gas flow, titanium valves with stiffer valve springs (for increased RPM), taller first gear ratio, tuned racing clutch, race specific ECU, smaller engine covers and a larger oil sump. Triumph says that more than 80 parts are new, overall.

In the regular setup, the 765cc engine makes 121bhp and 77Nm. The Moto2 specific engine’s figures have not been revealed yet.
