Royal Enfield Scramble ride’s Rajasthan leg kicks off
Royal Enfield, India’s homebred motorcycle manufacturer has commenced with the Scramble ride’s Rajasthan leg. The ride has been organized in partnership with Himalayan Motorsport (of Raid de Himalaya fame). The ride will be conducted from December 6 -10, 2017 and will run as a rally using the Time Speed Distance format. Two riders on two separate motorcycles comprise a team. The participating teams will be evaluated and given points on the basis of the overall position for the day, which will be received from the time taken by the teams between Time Controls.
The average riding speeds will be restricted to 45kmph. Speed charts and road books will be provided to competitors every day and each day they will have to face new challenges. The competitors will have obstacles to overcome and choices to make based on game theory. The team with the closest adherence to the game rules will be decided as the winner.
Royal Enfield organises various rides and meet-ups throughout the year across the country and the Scramble rally is one of those exciting rides. First leg of the Scramble ride took place in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh where team Asta of BalvirKaur and Amung Sharma riding the Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350s secured the winner’s trophy and prize money of Rs 25,000. The second leg of the Scramble took the participants to the treacherous terrain of Mopar, Punjab where the team of Amit Bindra and Vikas Chawla from Delhi took home the winning trophy.
