Royal Enfield partners with Alpinestars for new range of riding gear
Royal Enfield has partnered with Alpinestars for a new range of riding apparel and gear that will improve both their quality and suitability for Indian riding conditions. The new range of riding gear includes riding jackets, gloves and trousers. The manufacturing process includes the use of high quality materials such as abrasion resistant goat Nappa leather, polyester air mesh and Alpinestar’s Drystar waterproof membrane. The new range of riding gear has been priced from ₹5,200 to ₹18,900. Let’s take a look at the range in full:
Gravity Drystar riding jacket
Price: ₹17,500
The Gravity Drystar riding jacket is an all-season jacket that comes with Alpinestar’s level 2 armour protection. It comes with a level 2 CE certification and a modular construction. The jacket also has an airbag system for safety. It is available in black and khaki colours.
Solano Waterproof riding jacket
Price: ₹18,900
The most expensive bit of gear in the new range, the Solano jacket is an urban-riding focused riding jacket with a detachable thermal liner for those breezy evenings. It comes with a class A CE certification, along with Alpinestar’s level 2 armour protection. The completely waterproof jacket also comes with eight pockets in what Apinestars call its most “casually-styled” jacket in the range, and is available in black.
SMX-1 V2 air summer gloves
Price: ₹5,200
Something for those long rides under the summer sun, the air summer gloves come with an air mesh construction for better airflow, along with a level 1 CE protection and touchscreen compatible fingers so that you don’t have to take the gloves off while using your phone.
Syncro Drystar gloves
Price: ₹6,900
This is a more focused bit of gear from the collaboration, which Alpinestars says is meant for both road as well as track use! It is an all-weather glove using Alpinestar’s proprietary Drystar technology for more breathability as well as being completely waterproof. For track use, the gloves get additional safety features, such as a viscoelastic knuckle protection system, padded palms, ergonomic stretch accordions on fingers and the touchscreen compatible fingers as mentioned before. These should be a nifty tool out on those B-road blasts!
Gareth leather gloves
Price: ₹5,200
A luxurious choice, the Gareth leather gloves are made with a goat Nappa leather construction along with full waterproofing. Although more focused on comfort with a slim wrist design, they are also level 1 CE certified and have PVC covered knuckles for extra protection. The leather gloves are available in black or olive colours.
Gravity Drystar riding trousers
Price: ₹14,500
The only trouser in the lineup, these riding trousers come with Alpinestar’s Drystar technology, including all-weather usability and complete waterproofing. It also comes with several safety features and has an optimised fit for each rider to help them ride better.
