Royal Enfield 120th Anniversary Edition 650 Twins deliveries commence
Royal Enfield has started delivering the 120th Anniversary Editions of the Interceptor 650 and the Continental 650. The 120th Aniversary Edition 650 Twins were unveiled at the EICMA 2021 and bookings for the same in India began in December 2021. All the units allocated for India were sold out almost instantaneously in a flash sale that was held late last year. The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650 have been instrumental in solidifying the company’s image in international markets which is why these bikes were chosen to be launched in the limited edition avatars to celebrate 120 years of Royal Enfield.
A total of 480 units were built of which 120 units were allocated to India — 60 units of the Interceptor 650 and 60 of the Continental GT 650. Deliveries for the same have begun across the country this month with noteworthy individuals like Philipose G Pynumootil — Rear Admiral of the Indian Navy, Gagan Narang — Olympic bronze medalist and Arjuna award winner for shooting and decorated Malayalam film actor and director Dhyan Sreenivasan receiving their 120th Anniversary Edition Interceptor 650s. Philipose G Pynumootil’s Interceptor also bears the ‘001’ serial number.
The 120th Anniversary Editions receive a new Black Chrome paint scheme, followed by blacked-out treatment on the engine, silencer, spoke rims, shock absorbers, and other exposed mechanical bits as opposed to chrome offered on their standard counterparts. The GMA accessory pack offered by Royal Enfield will also be offered in a black paint scheme, which includes kit such as the engine guard, flyscreen, bar-end mirrors, and heel guards. Some impressive touches — the top badge on the tank will feature a unique serial number, and the side panels get a new decal paying homage to Royal Enfield’s 120 years. Both motorcycles also feature a new, unique die-cast brass tank badge, along with the trademark Royal Enfield pinstriping usually seen on the Bullet Standard 350 nowadays.
