Marking Commando’s 50th anniversary, Norton reveals the new Commando California
Words by Shubham Choukse
Norton motorcycles, the legendary British motorcycle company is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its one of the most iconic models – the Commando. And to commemorate the special occasion, Norton has introduced the new Norton Commando 961 California. In addition to the California, Norton has also introduced special editions of the Commando Cafe Racer and the Commando Sport models.
The special editions feature a bold paint scheme and are oozed with chrome and carbon. The California takes inspiration from the great Americano Cruisers from the 1970s and features a high handle bar and lots of polished bits and pieces. The California is based on the current generation Commando 961 and thus gets all the goodies such as Brembo brakes, Ohlins suspensions and a handmade chassis as standard.
Available to order now, the special editions will be exclusive to 50 units for each of the models in the Commando 961 line-up. And after the special editions are sold out, the California will still be available but without the special edition add-ons.
