New Ducati DesertX teased
Ducati DesertX design
The teaser images from the firm don’t reveal much but we can see that the new ADV will resemble the concept with the LED strip rimmed dual circular headlights, which are housed in a Paris-Dakar style fairing with an upright and tall windscreen. The design of the rest of the motorcycle was not shown completely but we can guess that it will be similar to that of the concept, which was based on the Scrambler.
Ducati DesertX engine
The original concept had Scrambler’s air-cooled V-Twin in a steel frame, but now Ducati has confirmed that the DesertX will make use of the manufacturer’s 937cc water-cooled Testastretta L-Twin engine. This engine is tried and tested and is the heart of motorcycles like the Supersport 950, Monster, Hypermotard 950 and Multistrada 950. So we can estimate that the production-spec DesertX will have nearly 110bhp and 93Nm of torque.
Ducati DesertX chassis
There is no confirmation regarding the frame and other chassis components but what has been confirmed for its serious off-road intentions is that the new ADV will retain the 21-inch front wheel from the concept.
The full reveal of the DesertX is slated for December 9, the last day of the 2022 Ducati World Premiere which will begin on September 30, and there are a total of six new bikes to be revealed. One every two weeks. Below are the titles and the dates of the reveals.
