Metallic red colour edition for the Yamaha R15 Version 3.0

Yamaha has introduced the Metallic red colour edition for the Yamaha R15 Version 3.0 at a price of Rs 1.52 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Besides the new colour scheme, the R15 does not get any other updates on the technical and features front. The new colour scheme would be applicable on the R15 V3.0 from April 1.

Retaining the standard specifications and features, the R15 3.0 version in the metallic red shade would be available with a BS6 compliant liquid-cooled SOHC fuel-injected 155cc engine, producing 18bhp and 14.1Nm. In addition, technologies like variable valve actuation (VVA) and side-stand engine cut-off are also available with the R15. The side-stand engine cut-off feature is now a standard feature on the entire range of Yamaha motorcycles.

As for now, the Yamaha R15 Version 3.0 with a price tag of Rs 1.52 lakh goes up against the likes of Suzuki Gixxer SF which costs almost Rs 25,000 less than the R15, but is equipped with single-channel ABS while on the other hand R15 comes equipped with dual-channel ABS.
