KTM India organises its first Adventure Day in Pune
KTM India organised its first ever off-road experience event called the Adventure day in Pune on December 20. The day-long event was held at the 21 Enduro Park, and was organised for owners of KTM's Adventure (250 and 390) bikes. The intention for conducting this event was to instil beginners with trail riding and off-road skills and offer advanced drills to intermediate riders. This is a good step, considering that KTM’s portfolio of adventure bikes is slowly increasing with the recent launch of the 250 Adventure and the upcoming launch of the 790 Adventure.
The event saw riders attempt multiple trails and off-road based drills like slaloms, hill recovery, making figures of eight, power turns and more. Attendees were also trained on bike setup, controls, lifting the bike, riding postures, planning for long distances. The participants who cleared the day-long training were given a bronze level certification. All this was done under the supervision of KTM’s international athletes along with prominent figures in the off-roading world that include, Nilesh Dhumal, head trainer, Big Rock Dirt Park, Ouseph Chacko, founder and instructor at School of Dirt, Philippe Geelhand, founder and instructor at PP Adventure Rides and KTM master trainer Varad More. KTM plans to regularly conduct the Adventure Day event in seven cities across the country over the course of the coming months.
Here’s what Sumeet Narang, president, Probiking at Bajaj Auto said about the Adventure Day event, “KTM is the most loved European motorcycling brand among the biking enthusiasts in India and we would like to provide world class pro-biking experiences to our customers. The KTM 390 Adventure and KTM 250 Adventure have seen a phenomenal response since their launch and hold promise of offering a truly capable and versatile adventure tourer to biking enthusiasts. When customers buy a KTM Adventure, they would not only get an outstanding machine but also access to exclusive adventure riding events which have been specially curated by certified off-road experts as per the International curriculum of KTM. We are delighted to announce KTM Adventure Day which gives an opportunity for all our owners to learn essential techniques of trail and off-road riding, which will help them get more out of their KTM Adventure bikes.”
In an attempt to strengthen its ties with the riding community, the Adventure Days event will join all the other rides and events KTM India already organises for owners of KTM bikes like the Duke and RC. It’s heartening to see manufacturers in India organise such events that allow users to get better acquainted with their machines and enhance the riding experience.
