Jawa Perak to be launched in India on November 15
On November 15, 2018, Classic Legends revived the Jawa brand and launched the Jawa and Forty-Two, also showcasing the bobber-styled Perak. Now, exactly a year later the brand will be finally launching the motorcycle to commemorate the brand’s anniversary. Classic Legends had announced that the Perak would be launched at Rs 1.89 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) but we expect the actual to go up because of the inflation and the new emission norms.
All about the Jawa Perak
The Jawa Perak is expected to be powered by a 334cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder motor developing 30bhp and 31Nm which is 3bhp and 3Nm more than the Jawa. This is a bored-out variant of the Mahindra Mojo’s motor, which powers the Jawa and the Forty Two. It will also get the same 6-speed gearbox.
The Perak is based on the Jawa but it gets different components to complete the bobber look. The frontend and tank of the bike are identical to the Jawa. The Perak gets a floating single seat, a different fender, and exhaust. The swingarm is longer than the one seen on the Jawa and the Forty Two and the twin shocks are replaced by a nicely tucked in monoshock hidden under the seat. The Perak also ditches all the chrome treatment in favour of blacked-out elements.
The bookings are likely to commence soon after the launch. Considering that Classic Legends have ramped up the production, the Perak is likely to have a shorter waiting period compared to the other Jawas.
