Jawa celebrates its first anniversary with the launch of Perak
On November 15 last year, Classic Legends resurrected the iconic Jawa brand and launched the Jawa and Forty Two. Also on display was Perak— a bobber from the brand. Today, on the company's first anniversary, Classic Legends have launched the Perak at Rs 1.94 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
All you need to know about Perak
The Perak is powered by a single cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC 334cc engine producing 30bhp and 31Nm. Yes, this is the bored-out version of the engine seen on the Jawa and the Forty Two. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox, which is optimised for this bobber.
The design of the production model remains very close the bike showcased last year. The Perak gets a stealthy paintjob and ditches all the chrome treatment on the siblings for blacked-out components.
Though it shares the same fascia, there are many unique elements to the bike. It gets a floating seat with integrated tail lamp and a monoshock, a first from Jawa. Like its siblings, the bike gets dual exhaust, however, staying true to its Bobber genes, it gets short, slashed exhausts. Even the swingarm is is redesigned and longer than the Jawa siblings.
The Perak is BS-VI compliant, and the bike will be available in cities in phased manner. According to the company, the bike will be available in those cities where BS-VI fuel is easily available. The bookings will be open for three months and the vehicles will be delivered accordingly. The next batch of bookings will commence once the bikes of the previous batches are delivered. So expect this bike to have a lesser waiting period
