Harley-Davidson launches Forty Eight Special and the Street Glide Special
Harley-Davidson launched the Forty Eight Special and the Street Glide Special at Rs 10.98 lakh and Rs 30.53 lakh respectively in India. While The Forty-Eight Special is an entirely new motorcycle, the Street Glide Special comes in place of the 2018 model. The Forty-Eight now gets a raised blacked-out handlebar which makes it placement closer to the rider than before. Mechanically the motorcycle remains the same though torque has gone up from 97Nm to 99Nm.
The Street Glide Special, on the other hand, spices things up. The ‘hot rod bagger’, as Harley calls it, now gets the mighty Milwaukee-Eight 114 engine as standard. The 1868cc engine makes a mammoth 163Nm of torque. And that’s not the only entertainment on offer, as the new Boom Box GTS infotainment system makes the Street Glide Special a disco on wheels. It offers Bluetooth, voice recognition, rider/passenger intercom etc.
Celebrating a decade in the country
The brand recently celebrated their 10th anniversary in India by offering an H-D lifestyle experience to their fans and customers through its 31 dealerships across the country. And it’s a milestone worth celebrating as H-D has become famous in India by just offering a range of utterly sophisticated cruisers. Any predictions on what will happen when Harley-Davidson’s 1250cc Adventure Tourer and 975cc Streetfighter come in?
