Ducati Streetfighter V4 prototype breaks cover ahead of Pikes Peak debut
The Panigale V4 is the ultimate track slayer from Ducati. While there speculations about a streetfighter spawning from the Panigale, there was no concrete evidence until recently. Numerous spy shots and renders later, Ducati has finally announced it! The Streetfighter V4 will make its debut on June 30 and the Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb will be the bike’s proving grounds! Riding this manic prototype will be Carlin Dunne, who won the 2018 Pikes Peak run with the Multistrada 1200S.
The Streetfighter V4 is essentially a stripped down Panigale V4, fitted with wide, high handlebars. Even the exhaust position is same like the Panigale. The Pikes Peak prototype also gets winglets to keep the front wheel on the ground. Maybe a raunchier Streetfighter V4 R is on the cards?
The 1100cc Desmosedici Stradale’s performance has been tailored as per the aerodynamic profile of the Streetfighter V4.
The Streetfighter V4 competing in the ‘race to the clouds’ will flaunt a ‘pixelated’ livery, designed by the Centro Stile Ducati which accentuates the line of the bike, a deliberate move to tease the final look of the bike.
Talking about this much-awaited reveal, Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati said "The Streetfighter V4 will be one of the stars of the Ducati World Premiere 2020. Streetfighter V4 is the Panigale for road riding; so there was no better stage than the Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb for what will be the highest performance Streetfighter ever put into production.”
The bike will make its world debut in EICMA 2019 in the production avatar. With plans of a 2020 launch, the Ducati Streetfighter V4 will lock horns with the Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 Factory.
