Cleveland CycleWerks opens its first showroom in India

At the Auto Expo earlier this year, Cleveland CycleWerks made its debut and showcased a range of products for India. Now, the company has opened its first showroom in the country in Mumbai. The dealership outlet is spread over an area of 1,000 square feet, which also includes a service centre and customer lounge. The entire range of Cleveland CycleWerks motorcycles will be on display. The second generation ‘Ace Deluxe’ and ‘Misfit’ are the two motorcycles that will be offered initially for the Indian market and they are priced at Rs 2.23 lakh and Rs 2.49 lakh. Recently, the company also opened its local assembly plant in Pune, where the CKD kits from China will be assembled.

The two retro styled motorcycles will be powered by the same 229cc air-cooled single cylinder engine which develops 15.4bhp and 16Nm and comes paired to a 5-speed gearbox. The Misfit is built on a double-cradle high carbon steel tubular backbone and the Ace is built on a square section downtube frame with the engine as a stressed member. Suspension duties are done by USD forks up front and twin hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear. While the Ace Deluxe gets 298mm front disc brake operated by 2 piston caliper and a 210mm rear disc with a single pot caliper, the Misfit gets a bigger 320mm disc operated by a 4-piston caliper up front and a 220mm disc at the rear.
