Bookings open for the 2017 CBR 1000RR Fireblade
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) announced commencement of bookings for the 2017 25th anniversary Honda CBR 1000RR Fireblade and CBR 1000RR Fireblade SP models in India. The motorcycles will be available at the company’s exclusive Wing World outlets in Mumbai and Delhi. Honda has planned to introduce both the models as CBUs (completely built unit) at a starting price tag of Rs 17.61 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Marking 25 years of production, the Honda CBR 1000RR Fireblade SP and the CBR 1000RR Fireblade models were first unveiled at the 2016 EICMA show in Milan. At heart, the Fireblade sports a 999cc in-line four cylinder engine, making 189bhp at 13,000rpm and 114Nm at 11,000rpm, mated to six-speed transmission.
In terms of electronic aids, the 2017 model gets a new gyroscopic ABS system, Throttle by Wire (TBW), 9 Level Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), Selectable Engine Brake (SEB), Honda Electronic Steering Damper (HESD) and Power Selector. All these parameters can be precisely adjusted with the Riding Mode Select System (RMSS). The Fireblade also gets a full-colour TFT liquid crystal dash to clearly communicate information to the rider, inspired by the RC213V-S street legal version of Honda’s MotoGP machine.
