BMW Motorrad will enter India on April 14
It is official. BMW Motorrad will finally be entering the Indian market, if the official communication received from them is to be believed. We have been asked to “Save the date for the ultimate riding machine”, the date in question being April 14, 2017.
Initially, BMW Motorrad dealerships will be opening in Mumbai, Bangalore and Pune in this first wave. They will start off by selling CBUs, and the highly awaited made-in-India G310R will make it to the market only by the end of the year, or maybe early next year. We knew BMW Motorrad would be entering the market soon, their official debut took place at the Auto Expo in Delhi last year. All this while though, BMW Motorrad bikes were being sold through private dealers and not through an official dealer network.
BMW will be the latest entrant in to the bustling space of performance motorcycles in India. Being CBUs, their bikes will be priced at a rather hefty price. However, the G310 R, which is being manufactered with TVS at their Hosur plant will be far more affordable. But being BMW, expect them to price it at a premium over the competition.
