Bajaj has announced Husqvarna India launch in 2019
Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director, Bajaj Auto has confirmed that the Indian brand will be bringing the Husqvarna brand to India by next year. He also mentioned that Bajaj has plans of launching electric vehicles and elecric two wheelers before the implementation of the new BS-VI norms.
The first two launches from the Austrian manufacturer will be the Vitpilen 401 and the Svartpilen 401 which are powered by the same 373.2cc liquid cooled single cylinder engine as the KTM 390 Duke and RC 390 Motorcycles. The KTM engine puts out 42.9bhp of power and 37Nm of torque and comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox with slipper clutch. It will be equipped with a slipper clutch, a ride-by-wire throttle system, Bybre disc brakes at both the ends along with ABS. As for the suspension, it will feature a USD Telescopic WP front fork and a gas charged mono shock at the rear.
Bajaj will manufacture both these motorcycles at their plant in Chakan. As a result, by 2019 Husqvarna will produce both their motorcycles in India for the rest of the world. The much awaited KTM 390 Adventure, is also rumoured to be launched in 2019. The Husqvarna bikes will be on display with the KTM bikes once they hit the showrooms.
