Auto Expo 2018: TVS showcase Zeppelin, Creon and Apache RTR 200 Fi Ethanol
The Zeppelin is a power cruiser with a neo-retro motorcycle look. The motorcycle is powered by a 220cc engine mated with TVS patented Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) and driven by a belt drive motor. The ISG is claimed to start the motorcycle quicker by providing it with an augmented boost. It gets a sharp headlamp section with an integrated HD cam, 41mm USD forks, 17 inch spoke wheels with Pirelli Sport Demon tyres and dual-channel ABS unit. The Zeppelin also gets an addition of 1200W regenerative assist motor with 48V Li-ION battery.
Creon is a concept electric scooter that is targeted towards performance in electric scooter mobility. The scooter claims to sprint from 0-60kmph in just 5.1 seconds which is in line with most 150cc motorcycles in the market and offers 80km range on one full charge. It is powered by 3 Li-ION batteries that can produce 12Kw of power. The technological connectivity on the scooter is developed in collaboration with Intel. The Creon gets an all-digital display unit and boasts of cloud connectivity, three custom riding modes, regenerative braking, park assist, anti-theft safety, GPS navigation and geo-fencing. The scooter is nestled on lightweight aluminium perimeter frame, shod with TVS Remora tyres, gets disc brakes on both the wheels with single channel ABS.
Commenting on the connected technology platform on board the TVS Creon, Vinay Harne, President – New Product Development, TVS Motor Company said, “Two-wheelers are the lifeline of modern Indian cities. This collaboration is aimed at creating a unique positioning for Hybrid and Electric scooter series from TVS Motor Company as both Green-energy champions and smart-connected gadgets.”
The bikemaker also introduced an environmentally friendly version of the Apache RTR 200 Fi that is fuelled with Ethanol. TVS is targeting cleaner emissions by introducing ethanol-powered engine in the standard motorcycle. Apache RTR 200 is the first motorcycle in its segment to have incorporated the ethanol fuelled motor. Apart from the vibrant green graphics on the tank with a sticker indicating ‘Ethanol’ the rest of the bike is exactly the same.
