Ather Energy teases 450X electric scooter

Bengaluru-based Ather Energy has teased a new electric scooter—450X, which is expected to be unveiled soon. Though the company hasn’t divulged any details of the new scooter, it states that the scooter flaunts “major upgrades on the Ather 450, it’s everything you wanted in a scooter - including a few features you never expected to see”. This will be the first product from Ather to available in cities other than Bengaluru and Chennai.

The company has not revealed the price of this new scooter yet but selected individuals have been given invites to pre-order their 450X before the official launch which is expected to happen in the next few weeks.

The Ather 450 packs a 2.4kWh Li-ion battery pack that can charge up to 80 percent at the rate of 1km/minute. The BLDC motor belts out 7.24bhp and 20.5Nm. The 450X is expected to have better performance and features along with additional range. Ather is also calling the X as a limited edition variant and we expect it to come with new livery as well.

Currently, Ather Energy is selling the 450 in Bengaluru and Chennai but has been also planning on expanding its operations across the country. Recently, the company also stated their intention of ramping up production and distribution capacity 12 times over. Ather Energy has also expressed their interest in opening Ather Space across all Tier 1 cities, starting with Pune, Hyderabad, Mumbai and New Delhi.
